Red wiggler worms (Eisenia fetida) are the premier composting worm, ideal for breaking down food scraps into nutrient-rich castings due to their rapid reproduction and high consumption rates. They thrive in moist, shaded environments, optimally at 65-70°F, and can consume 50% of their body weight daily.
